Every morning, Cowboy Frog checks the same patch of dust for hoofprints. There are none. He tips his hat anyway, leans beside the fence, and guards a horizon that has never filed a complaint. The revolver is mostly for pointing at chores. By sundown, nothing has happened, which he records as another clean day. The moon clocks in late. The frog does not.
